BFI London Film Festival, 4th-15th October
The 61st BFI London Film Festival is perhaps the biggest film festival to grace England’s capital. From high-profile celebrity films with red carpet and gala premieres to the best independent cinema, this film festival is sure to cater to any film buff. Even though it is centred around Leicester Square in the West End, it branches out to other cinemas all over London. You can attend a wide variety of filmmaker masterclasses, Q&As, workshops, talks, and short films.

London Literature Festival, 13th October to 1st November
From Philip Pullman, Tom Hanks, Annie Leibovitz, and Hillary Clinton, this year’s London Literature Festival is a very promising one. After an opening with the 50th anniversary of Poetry International, you can attend 2017 Man Booker Prize readings, explore the world of The Handmaid’s Tale, attend live readings of Nelson Mandela’s memoirs, and much more.
Harry Potter: A History of Magic Exhibition, 20th October to 28th February
20 years after the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the British Library brings you an exhibition that presents Hogwarts’ subjects in a new light. From Astronomy to Potions, Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures, you will be able to view mystical artefacts, illustrations and manuscripts, J. K. Rowling’s archives, and so much more. A must-see exhibition for Harry Potter fans!
